Mission Statement:
The Deacons shall be primarily responsible for providing pastoral care to assigned individuals and families in the congregation. In cooperation with the Pastor, the deacon shall promote the growth and welfare of the church; prepare and distribute the Lord’s Supper; visitation projects: preparation of candidates for baptism: take responsibility for ministering to the needy; and perform such duties as may be assigned by the Pastor. The mission of the Diaconate is to assist in equipping the disciples, in partnership with the Pastor for the transformation from this world into the kingdom of God through presence, guidance and encouragement.
Objectives and Goals:
• Improvement of ministry, follow up to allow for the continued growth of the congregation.
• Implement programs to foster community within the church.
• Increase discipleship participation in ministry and church functions.
• Increase leadership participation in prayer and bible study and in the church’s ministries and functions.
• Deacons are expected to tithe regularly.
